Banking & Finance Students

For banking and finance students seeking a career in banking, please note that it is not going to be smooth-sailing, there will be ups and downs and if you are an ambitious person, you will have to struggle, play politics, curry-favour and know who your friends and enemies are.
Sounds complicated, well, let's just put it this way, it is not going to be as straight-forward as school days, where all one needs to do is study, solve the problems from the textbooks, get some tips from lecturers before exams and mix with the correct bunch of classmates who look out for one another.
I will elaborate more in my next posting. Thanks.

Seems Rosier Than It Is

Take a look at some banks' recruitment ads and one will notice lots of perks being mentioned. However, there are some who say that it is done to lure people into working for them and after most have gone into the jobs and experienced it, they will eventually leave because it is not as rosy as it seems.
Then the ads come onto the media again, and once again, new fresh people are recruited and the cycle repeats itself over and over again.
This is the sad state of affairs nowadays. Compare the situation to 20 or 30 years ago when baby boomers worked for a company for their entire working lives. Back then, companies were not as cost conscious as they are now. Benefits were better.
